A Surrogate Model-Based Hybrid Approach for Stochastic Robust Double Row Layout Problem

The double row layout problem is to arrange a number of machines on both sides straight aisle so as minimize the total material handling cost. Aiming at random distribution product demands, we study stochastic robust (SR-DRLP). A mixed integer programming (MIP) model established for SR-DRLP. surrogate used linearize nonlinear term in MIP achieve linear model, which can be readily solved by an exact method yield high-quality solutions (layouts) small-scale SR-DRLPs. Furthermore, propose hybrid approach combining local search and (LS-EA) solve large-scale Firstly, designed optimize machine sequences two rows clearance from most left 1 boundary. Then, location each further optimized approach. LS-EA applied six instances ranging 8 50 machines. Experimental results show that effective outperforms comparison approaches.
